The development of this piece was cutting-edge and extremely complex. The wood arm and back of the chair are heavily shaped and the end grain will appear in some areas. End grain tends to absorb stain more than the regular grain. Areas where end grain is present may appear slightly darker and should not be considered a defect, on the contrary, a true mark of craftsmanship.
